About Me
Jessica Smart (she/her/hers) is a compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Communication Arts from St. Mary’s University and a Master of Education degree specializing in Guidance and Counseling from Angelo State University. She furthered her expertise by completing her Clinical Mental Health Counseling certification through Lamar University postgraduate school.
With a wealth of experience in the field, Jessica has dedicated herself to working with children, teens, young adults, and families in various capacities within the public school system. Throughout her diverse roles, spanning from being a teacher to a counselor for elementary through high school students, Jessica observed firsthand the transformative potential inherent within each individual to grow and flourish.
Jessica’s approach is rooted in fostering a safe and empowering environment through a non-judgmental, person- centered, strengths-based perspective. She has supported individuals of all ages dealing with a spectrum of challenges, including anxiety, self-harm, depression, ADHD, grief and loss, personality disorders and disruptive behaviors. Through collaborative efforts, she guides clients towards achieving their personal growth objectives.During sessions with Jessica, clients can expect to take away tangible, actionable steps to begin taking to help align thoughts, behaviors and actions to their current goals and personal values. All of this will be done in a warm, supportive and safe environment where clients can feel empowered to achieve anything that they set their mind to. Clients can always expect to have homework! :)
